The Story

Son and Rachael are young, married and hopelessly in love. They're also car thieves.

When a secret comes between them, it threatens to destroy the carefree life Son and Rachael lead. Together, they decide to put their criminal ways behind them. But a reckless past isn't easy to escape.

Max, a rival car thief, has a score to settle.

The Project

SMOKE is a 2006-2007 Masters Thesis Film at the American Film Institute. The film was completed in early summer 2007 and is an official selection of the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films 2007.
